Concert Connections

The goal of Concert Connections is to support the SDSO's mission to inspire the best in all of us through music.  Recognized as a model for how an orchestra can serve its communities, the SDSO works to engage new audiences through intentionally curated programs.  SDSO embraces collaboration with educational and cultural organizations to create musical experiences that are responsive to the unique interests and needs of these partners' constituents.  Concert Connections initiatives have included guest artist visits to universities, speakers at community events, behind-the-scenes rehearsal access for students, and more.  

Known for innovative programming and statewide outreach, the SDSO has a strong heritage upon which to build an even stronger future.  Programs like the award-winning Lakota Music Project, Bridging Cultures, and Concert Connections activities demonstrate how an orchestra can be a vital, essential force for serving, strengthening, and celebrating community.
