Rick Jensen

Rick Jensen has been a percussionist with the SDSO since 1994.  A native of Bloomington, MN, he graduated from St. Olaf College where he studied percussion with Bob Adney, conducting with Miles Johnson, and was the principal percussionist of The St. Olaf Orchestra.

As a music director, Jensen serves as Director of Bands at Edison Middle School in Sioux Falls and teaches beginning band at Laura Wilder and Sonia Soyomayor Elementary Schools.  He can also be heard performing on occasion with the Sioux Falls Municipal Band and at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.

Jensen lives in Sioux Falls with his wife and two highly mischievous dogs.
