Robert Adney

Bob Adney is the principal timpanist of the South Dakota Symphony and during the summers he is the timpanist for the Minneapolis Pops Orchestra. He is a founding member of the Minnesota Percussion Trio (1987). The MN Percussion Trio has performed over 1500 concerts throughout the state of Minnesota as well as western Wisconsin. As a freelance artist in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area he has performed with virtually every musical organization in the Twin Cities. He has a discography of over 25 cds performing with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Minnesota Orchestra, Minnesota Opera and the South Dakota Symphony. Additionally, he frequently performs with the Music St. Croix Chamber Music Series and the Mount Olivet Lutheran Church.

He teaches at MacPhail Center for Music and his home— Indian Mounds Park Percussion Studio. Bob is the author of several self-published instructional books for percussion as well as a handful of arrangements and original compositions for percussion. He is co-owner of marimbarental.com.
