Jenna McBride-Harris

Jenna McBride-Harris, a native Oregonian and Twin Cities transplant, loves playing second horn in the SDSO and enjoys a varied freelance career as a performer and educator. She earned her degrees from St. Olaf College, the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and The Ohio State University. In Ohio, she was a founding member in several active chamber ensembles, including a horn and harp duo, JPlaysH. She held positions as second horn in the Canton and Kentucky Symphony Orchestras and performed regularly with the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, Dayton Philharmonic, and West Virginia Symphony Orchestra among others. Since relocating to the Cities, she has enjoyed regular performances with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, Minnesota Opera, and Minnesota Orchestra. Jenna is Visiting Assistant Professor of Horn at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, where she has a large and mighty horn studio of wonderful horn-playing humans. During the summers, she is Instructor of Horn at the Crescendo Summer Institute in Tokaj, Hungary. Outside of teaching and performing, Jenna enjoys gardening, baking, sewing, and the antics of her husband, two cats and flock of chickens.
