VIOLIN I
Sarah Richter
After studying briefly with Sue Sidoti and continuing study with Ray Sidoti throughout high school, Sarah Richter won prestigious violin scholarships from DePaul University and the Cleveland Institute of Music and graduated with a violin performance degree from CIM in 2009. At CIM, Richter studied violin with Linda Cerone and was coached by members of the Cleveland and Cavani Quartets and the Cleveland Orchestra. She was active in CIM’s Chamber Music Program, playing violin and viola in recitals and outreach programs in numerous venues throughout the area. She also performed frequently in concerts with the CIM Orchestra at Severance Hall.
Richter is an active solo and chamber music performer. Through the Dakota Academy of Performing Arts (DAPA) at the Pavilion, she collaborates on a regular basis with various string chamber ensembles and has given numerous successful solo and chamber recitals in Sioux Falls and throughout the Midwest. She has returned to Sioux Falls to continue musical study and collaboration with the Sidoti’s, and to expand the reach of DAPA’s chamber music education and community outreach efforts. She is a regular member of the SDSO’s first violin section and teaches violin, viola and chamber music for DAPA at the Pavilion.
